Emotional Resilience, Self-Efficacy, and Yoga-Meditation: A Systematic Literature Review
Main Article Content
Abstract
The interplay between emotional resilience, self-efficacy, and mind-body practices such as yoga and meditation has emerged as a critical area of inquiry in contemporary educational psychology and mental health research. This systematic literature review (SLR) synthesizes empirical evidence on the relationship between emotional resilience, self-efficacy, and yoga-meditation interventions, examining their collective impact on psychological well-being, academic performance, and adaptive functioning.
Following PRISMA 2020 guidelines, a comprehensive search of peer-reviewed literature was conducted across multiple databases. A total of 36 studies met the inclusion criteria and were subjected to thematic synthesis. The review reveals that emotional resilience and self-efficacy are mutually reinforcing constructs that significantly predict academic success, psychological well-being, and adaptive coping.
Yoga and meditation interventions demonstrate consistent efficacy in enhancing both resilience and self-efficacy through neurocognitive, physiological, and psychological mechanisms. The findings support the development of integrated mind-body interventions in educational settings to promote holistic student development. Implications for educational practice, policy, and future research are discussed.
