Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between farm size and efficiency in protected vegetable cultivation in Gurugram, Haryana, India, comparing a large farm (4000 sqm) and a small farm (2000 sqm) producing tomato, capsicum, and cucumber. Using hypothetical data on input costs, output yields, and economic returns, the analysis examines various efficiency metrics, including input utilization, output productivity, and economic profitability. The findings provide insights into the potential advantages and disadvantages of different farm sizes under protected cultivation in the local context and offer recommendations for optimizing resource use and maximizing returns.
